Title: Cross-cultural validation of scales evaluating emerging adults’ financial issues
Principal Investigator: Angela Sorgente, PhD ([email protected])
Brief description: After 2008 economic crisis, the financial condition of youth has become a frequent research topic and the need of instruments measuring financial constructs relevant for this stage of life is increasing. The current project aims to validate across different countries three instruments: (1) the Multidimensional Subjective Financial Well-being Scale (MSFWBS) assessing the emerging adults’ perception and evaluation of their own financial condition [data already available from Italy and Portugal]; (2) the Family Economic Enmeshment Scale (FEES), a graphic item, assessing the emerging adult child’s and the parents’ financial (un)differentation [data already available from Italy]; (3) the Financial Identity Scale (FIS) assessing the development of identity related to the financial domain [data already available from USA, Italy, and Lithuania]. Colleagues from other countries interesting in collaborate are welcome.
Deadline to apply: January 31, 2019
Keywords: measurement, validity, cross-cultural comparison, emerging adulthood, financial domain.
